Paul B March 15th, 2008, 06:16 PM I dont have the answer but I'm curious about something you said you live in Vietnam but your location says Germany. Welcome to the forum and nice paphs!
michaelcando March 15th, 2008, 06:18 PM Hi,

Best regards

Paul B March 15th, 2008, 06:21 PM Thats cool and dont worry your English is fine.
Paphy57 March 15th, 2008, 08:22 PM The middle one looks like a bullenianum to me.
michaelcando March 15th, 2008, 08:24 PM I think too, but the paph bullenianum is not from Vietnam. They are from Malaysia..
Roy March 15th, 2008, 09:01 PM I reckon #'s 1 & 3 are bullenianum varieties and the middle one is a hybrid, appletonianum x something.
michaelcando March 15th, 2008, 09:05 PM as I said they come from Vietnam not from Import. There are new Paph bullenianum in Vietnam?
Roy March 15th, 2008, 11:08 PM Sorry to say but checking the photos available number 3 is P.bullenianum.
Number 1 is very similar to what was known as P. robinsonii now P. bullenianum. Number 2 looks like it has appletonianum in it but is the wrong color. Who ever you got them from has their facts wrong in my opinion.
papuanum March 16th, 2008, 02:34 AM I live in Vietnam as well, and I can only confirm that those are genuine plants from Viet Nam. I have seen quite a few over the last few days. I wondered myself about bullenianum several times , and I have seen plants that are very, very close to volonteanum, including the leaves. I saw quite a few of those in the minorities, so import/purchase is out of question. They are "real" wild plants.
michaelcando March 16th, 2008, 07:22 AM are there maybe new species in Vietnam? I think the Nr1 the Staminode quite paph.cerverianum and Nr 3 is Paph bullenianum und Nr2 is Paph bullennianum var robinsonii.
Roy March 16th, 2008, 07:40 AM Ok, I accept what you say as correct but then those plants need to be sited by a taxonomist and a name varified or given. As you descibe the plants there needs to be some investigation.
michaelcando March 16th, 2008, 08:29 AM To desribe those Orchids is very difficult, I can not desribe alone and the problem is how to take the CITES in Vietnam.
rdlsreno March 16th, 2008, 05:06 PM Isn't the last picture an Paph angustifolium the newly discovered paph from vietnam? Here is a link
