Here's some pics of my Bulb. falcatum. It used to be called Megaclinium falcatum, because of how the flowers are borne on a long flattened rachis, and some authors still use this name. It is the small version of the plant I really want...Bulb. purpureorachis...but I can't find one for sale under $300. It is a great plant in it's own right, and easy to grow...it loves water almost as much as a Phrag.

Very interesting looking plant and the flowers look so tiny.

I wonder if this plant was designed to attract catterpillar predators as primary polinators...

I like that plant Jon. You'll have to bring it to a meeting next time it is in bloom.

Jon, seems to me we both share the same target species ! purpureorachis is really expensive and they are sold interm of bulb and one mature bulb can be sold as much as USD 250 to 300 here ! I can only get several tiny little seedlings and one medium sized plant from NZ ... Can't wait to see its bloom although it may take some time ...

I was offered a division that consisted of three mature bulbs for $250...and this is the best deal I have come across. At the time I only had $50 on hand and so let that deal slip away. If only I would have brought more cash....
I would also like to find a Bulb. maximum(and all the Megacliniums for that matter) but here in the states it seems you have to be good friends with someone who has mature divisions taking up too much of their room to be able to get a reasonable price on them.

USD 250 for a good division is definitely a super deal ! What a pity you didn't have enough $$$ on hands at that time ...
I got my maximum division from a South African vendor and it should be able to bloom this year ! I think I can send one to you with CITES but those documentation fee is as much as the plant costs ... simply not worth it ... :(

It's the thought that counts, and I really appreciate it. When it gets warmer here I may be willing to spend the extra money to get some hard to find plants shipped in. I would love to see some pictures of it when it does bloom.
