Here's some photos of one of my favorite non-slipper orchids...Phal. violacea.
It smells identical to a freshly opened box of Froot Loops Cereal, and I can't get enough of it.
This year's first flower.

Lovely! Looks as though the color on this year's is much more uniform. I have one in bud, and am glad to see how fat the buds get before it opens. Mine is growing roots like there's no tomorrow also. I just bought another one of these too. Burnt the bellina I had in double spike to a crisp in the great sunburn even a few weeks ago.

wow, that is just lovely!, I recently got a violacea from Al's , I can't wait to see it bloom ( or just to see it grow)-I went away on vacation for the
Fourth & I watered right before I left, I was so happy to see everything was alright when I returned (I actually got some plants while I was gone, my neighbor, who was watching my cats, opened the box & watered everything)-I am a fortunate person...LInda

They fade as they get old, and that's when the photo from last year was taken. Neither photo are the true color it has in sunlight...kinda disappointing.

Thats a very pretty on Jon.
My belina is in bloom now, but I'm going to wait for a 2nd bud to open before I take a picture.
