Hola Fellow Forumites!
We have enabled a new Auction function, but it is not yet live. Pete is going to turn it on so we can play with it, but it isn't really functioning yet. We are going to wait until we have the domain switched over sucessfully to go live with it because otherwise, any auctions could be messed up during the switchover.

So, if you feel like playing w/ it, be our guest and hopefully soon, it will be for real!

Thanks!

*Edit* Ok, I take that back, it is live, but no charge for using it until we move.

Stan, yes the auction is for real and free for now until we move but you can also make one up now just for testing and make sure to mention TEST. The auction software is very new and scary to me.

Hahahahhaha!! Marcus made me LOL and my customers think I'm crazy now! Good thing I wasn't sipping my diet coke at that moment!

I would think, though they are smallish, that Oompa Loompa's would cost more than $5 to ship! :poke:

is there a way to edit your auction or add a pic?

You can add a pic when you first list the plant the same way you add a pic to a post on the forum. I have not yet found a way to edit. I wish I could, I screwed up my listing.

I don't take Paypal, but check, or MO is fine. Oopsie!

I couldn't find a way to edit, so I just asked Peter to delete it.
Alright, I'll repost the oompa loompas... :D
I asked Peter to delete it because I felt :embarass: goofing around while Stan was posting real stuff...

Paphraguy
July 5th, 2005, 01:25 PM
You can't go back and edit? Hmm...I didn't know that. Maybe you need to notify me to make changes? I don't know. Heather, you're a mod, you don't have the option to change either?

Paphgirl
July 5th, 2005, 01:29 PM
Marcus - that's why we're testing it out- goofing is a good way to test, before the final live version is in place. Anyway, I found it most amusing!

Pete, I don't seem to be able to edit, nope.

Do make sure to mention TEST if your listing is not for real. Heather, I think editing is not allowed because we/software don't want sellers to go back and change things once their items are listed. PM me and let me know what needs to be changed and I'll try and see if I can. I'm still learning about this auction stuff.

In all seriousness - we seem to be having issues w/ the PM interface. For example, I have NO mail in my inbox or sentbox, and yet it is telling me I have 10 unread messages. This all started when we started to outbid each other last night. So, don't be surprised if the auction disappears for a bit today.

This is why we wanted to test it out. :)

Thanks for your patience while this get's worked out.

Okay, Auction's back up - same as before - test mode so it is free for a limited time. Check it out. Post real auctions if you wish, but if it is a fake, please be sure to put ***TEST somewhere obvious in the listing.

I came across a slight glitch while trying to post a new auction. The screen loaded with everything except the button to "Submit". The bottom box (I think it's the one called suggest a category) had some funny characters in it. "/W" "/S" stuff like that. I got around it by hitting refresh on the page, and that brought up the page as it's supposed to look, but I lost all the info I had entered the first time.
Tried it again just to make sure I got the same glitch and it happened the second time too.

Marcus, I did exactly what you tried to do and I had no problem. Did you try again? Probably a connection probem, perhaps?

Too bad, Susan but mealies are easier to eradicate. Try the auction, the software is better, more spohisticated than the first one which was a little too buggy. Anyway, good luck getting rid of the pests!

Well you guys should feel free to start listing things, or just mess around - it works much more like ebay and won't crash the forum because it is unrelated software. It is pretty darn cool, so get out there and sell sell sell!
