couscous74 July 5th, 2005, 10:09 AM I am definitely learning to appreciate the little orchids, if only because I can keep more of them in the same space.
Rob, that luteola almost looks like a Phal with it's petals. Very nice. Are they hard to grow?
Paphraguy July 5th, 2005, 10:11 AM That is really tiny! Very nice.

No, they are easy. Grows just like a phal, actually. A little warmer and shadier than most cattleyas.

Wendy July 5th, 2005, 01:58 PM Beautiful! Luteola is a nice cattleya for anyone with space restrictions. Mine is in bud again as well. Both very well bloomed! Does your luteola have that warm vinyl scent to it?
RickL July 5th, 2005, 02:08 PM Don't let my wife see the Barnett.
She'll start looking around the GH for stuff I've snuck in :Shh:

Warm vinyl... I'll have to smell it tonight when I get home. I'm not sure that is a good smell though. Reminds me of the wine listing where the bottle was toted as having 'an aroma of wet stones'. a) what do wet stones smell like and b) why would I want that in my wine?
TADD July 5th, 2005, 09:00 PM Very cool little guy! Is the little one fragrant?
Greenpaph July 6th, 2005, 11:49 PM littlefrog,
I love em both!
Thanks

So Rob, does it smell like warm vinyl? :poke:
I read a description of a sake in a Japanese restaurant that described the fruity frangrance as being like a young girl running through a meadow. :D
