Well after seeing liens beautiful ones made with the flava besseae, I thought I'd share some pics of mine made with the regular besseae.

And Heather, before you mention sargentianums size, this plant is in a three inch pot and stays quite compact. For whatever reason it stays smaller and denser than my besseae, although I am sure there are some monstrous MDCs out there.

Sorry about the back lighting...I really need to build a make shift photo studio for my plants. The flowers are much redder than the photo shows.

Nice disclaimer Jon! Looks well grown and flowered even if in a 3.5 inch pot. You can create a hanging backdrop in your greenhouse if you are desparate.

Jon,

Great flowers!

I've got several different MDC crosses, all made with yellow besseae (with the ultimate goal of a lot of back crossing to yellow besseae). I find that some crosses stay quite compact while others become monsters. The current batch that is starting to bloom have growths up to 12" while I have another cross that has yet to start spiking and all those plants are 36"+ with leaves that are 2-3" wide.
