When is the best time to repot Cyp. formosum. I just got two plants and they are in 4" pot and thinking about moving to 8" (flat shallow pot) since the plant has long rhizomes. The plant is only about 3" in heigh yet and the leaves are not fan out yet. Any tips? Also what will be an ideal culture for this plant.

I would leave them in the 4" pot and wait to repot the plants in the fall when they become dormant.

I agree. Don't mess with them until the fall.

Yes, fall would be the best time to repot.

Thank!! The seedling looks nice and healthy. The fan is only about the size of an orange, so i been feeding 20-20-20 to boost up the plant. Hopefully it will mature by next season.

That's OK Lanny, but don't overdo it either. Cyp roots are sensitive to too much fertilizer. This species however is a heavy feeder, as far as a Cyp goes.
