May I ask what this is, and what I should do???
I sprinkled it with cinnamon, and have cut the bad part away before, but it came back?? :help:
Nynaeve October 21st, 2007, 09:09 PM Looks like leaf tip die back to me. Usually it happens because of poor water quality, build up of salts, or an imbalance of nutrients. Sometimes if I give my plants plain rain water for a while it will go away. And sometimes if I give my plants a dose of epsom salts (1tsp/gallon water) it will also help. Removing the tip will not solve your problem, something in the culture needs to change...hope this helps!

Hmmmm... I always give Rain water or Dehumidifier water, which is essentially distilled water, so I may have to try the epsom salts. I'll also do some super flushing.
I started fertilizing at 10-5-10 urea free, once a week. Could this be the problem?

at what strength?
weakly weekly should be OK (1/4th recommended amount).

It is Gro More 20-10-20 urea free that I dilute to about 25-50% the recommended amount.
goldenrose October 21st, 2007, 10:02 PM 50% weekly could be a bit strong? :confused:Actually I have the same thing happening. I rotate with epsom salts & MSU, usually every 10 days at 1/4 strength, so don't know if a lower dose would make any difference.
Emydura October 21st, 2007, 10:30 PM This sort of die-back can be fungal as well. When I see something like that, I cut an inch below the area and put a fungicide on it. Seems to always stop it from developing further. You have to be careful not to contaminate the area you have cut otherwise you are back to square one.
This is assuming it is fungal. It maybe something to do with salt build-up etc as others have said.

Paphy57 October 22nd, 2007, 08:14 PM So smaller dosage of fertilizer, do a super flush, try and cut it about an inch back, and ONLY rainwater for awhile.

It may be infection, I think fertilizer burn has a cleaner advancing edge.
This edge on the other hand looks uneven spread likes thing grows on the petridish.
