Last summer I needed to build a shed to get the lawn mower and yard tools out of the basement so I thought why not add a greenhouse onto the shed. Well thats how I rationalized it to my wife anyway. She quickly noticed it was bigger than the actual shed part but has yet to comment on my orchid supplies also being in there.

Green house is about 6x9.5 feet...

and my water supply in the shed.

I had some plants out there for a little while late last summer but didn't like the way my passive cooling/heating system worked so I added an exhaust fan and small electric heater. Still a few things to finish and tweek but so far so good.

Nice greenhouse! Get a nice orchid in bloom for your wife to get interested in and grow it herself.

David, that is very impressive work. Your plants are very healthy and well grown too.

Thanks guys. Its been fun building it but when all said and done probably cost as much as a premade one and took way more time to put together. But I still needed the shed too. I still have some finish work and a few tweeks and I'm not confident enough to leave my plants out there during the heart of winter so I'll be shleping them back in the house as it gets cold.

Nancy: Thats how this whole obsession started, I bought her a blooming phal. My wife has some plants too and she likes the fact that I end up watering her plants at the same time as mine.

I guess now I need to get back to finishing some projects on our fixer house.
