Paphraguy June 22nd, 2005, 11:12 AM I have never used any bloom boosters and my plants bloom just fine. TADD June 22nd, 2005, 11:13 AM Howdy Dan! I do not use any bloom boosters at all. I think that your fert regimen should be adequate enough. That might be too much food nutrients for the paph. But I am sure someone with more experience will chime in and correct me! nyorchids June 22nd, 2005, 02:25 PM i agree with tadd with regular fertilizer you should be fine Park Bear June 22nd, 2005, 04:09 PM no bloom booster here either, I also make sure I don't use a rooting mix when it is close to blooming time Stephan June 23rd, 2005, 01:47 AM Ditto here in Oz, although I do occassionally mix in some trace elements with my fertiliser from time to time. Stephan ablady June 23rd, 2005, 06:30 AM Hello slipper lover, I m new here, I use to have woluwense I regularly fertilizer 21-21-21 but lightly every 10 days, I think that`s enough for paph, from my experience if you use bloom booster the flower will not completely perfect as it was, normaly if the root system are ok everything gonna be ok  Bozo June 30th, 2005, 04:38 PM if you're having problems blooming it, forget the fertilizer and just chill the @#%@ thing in the winter. dantheman July 1st, 2005, 07:54 AM Chill it or KILL it ? bhams July 1st, 2005, 08:37 AM sometimes things are simple -but we seem to molliecoddle our plants .nice to be put back on track . Billie dantheman July 1st, 2005, 08:40 AM I'm trying to get my plant to bloom. Not send it to analysis. Paphgirl July 1st, 2005, 09:21 AM Dan, if you ask the questions, expect answers. bhams July 1st, 2005, 09:30 AM How old is your plant ? Seedling or division ?? --even the newer Roths take 5yrs to flower , Niveum being a brachypetalum can also need drop in temp to flower they don't like hot house conditions --its a hot /cold combination here one flowers in Winter May-August the roth spends winter in hot house and flowers & in spring the Oct-nov . When these combinations are made flowering is a waiting game ask owners of paph Rolfie -some of these took 10 yrs to flower . -- Bloom booster is not your Answer it the nature of the plants -thats my thoughts . Billie dantheman July 1st, 2005, 09:35 AM Thanks. That made good sense. Bozo July 7th, 2005, 11:27 PM Chill it or KILL it ? it's your plant, so what you do is your business. i would recommend chilling it first to 50-55 in the winter, and if the damn thing still doesn't bloom (and is mature enough to do so), then do us all a favor and kill it. or give it to someone you don't like so that it may take up space in his/her growing area. |
