What is your personal imagination of the perfect Slipper??
It's a hard question! I imagine a micranthum hybrid (Of COURSE!!) that has petals and a dorsal that are about 6 inches long. That would be stunning!!

My idea of a perfect slipper would be a giant sanderianum or philippinense with extra long petals and the flowers are extremely fragrant!!! And very fast growing quality would be great! Now back to reality, sigh!

Seriously, I think my multifloral slippers are perfect as they are with just one exception and that is they do grow so very slowly, other than that they are already perfect to me and I love them! :D

A perfect slipper is a flower that has the color of a very dark and distinctly marked Gloria Naugle with a shape of a very good flat and full Sugar Suite flowered on a 78cm stem with 7 flowers about 16 cm across. Very fragrant on a compact growing plant that is very easy and pest and decease resistant.:hyper::heart:

My perfect slipper would be a multifloral in parvi size LS (under 8 inches in total, preferably), fragrance would be a bonus. also have to be weedy and sequential blooming like phrags. :hyper:

The perfect slippers already exist; Cypripediums. To me waiting is part of growing slippers or even orchids in general because when they bloom you know the work getting it to bloom and grow was worth it. Getting a plant to bloom earlier and longer, even having a plant easier to grow would cheapen the experience and I feel we would lose what makes these plants great. To me growing a Cypripedium from seed and having the challenge of growing it and waiting years to see it bloom for the first time is perfection.

LOL I don't think I have seen fake multifloral Paphs. I wouldn't mind one as a decorative piece in my living room.

OMG!!!! You guys are soooooooo funny....I nearly spit my coffee out this morning while reading this thread!!!!!!

My perfect slipper would be a green and white roth...huge flowers, tons of them...and it would only bloom for me...hahahahah!!!!! (Evil Laugh!!!) It would also sing like Elton John when I play the piano. It would also be able to communicate to me and tell me what all the other slippers are thinking. He would be my "slipper friend."

LOL....geeze...I sound lonely, don't I? LOL

I already have the perfect slipper!
it's my good old paph. honey.
it sits on the TV, treated as a regular house plant and blooms forever (since 2005).

thanks for the compliments.
I'm so used to this one around, I started to take it for granted.
still, there is a reason why it's called honey.
