Hello,

Can anyone telle me what are the differences between P. micranthum originating from Cao Bang (Vietnam) compared to an average micranthum?

Thanks

I thought micranthum only grew in China.

Some grow in a small part of vietnam.
I don't know what the difference is, though!

I don't know the answer but I moved your thread to the Slipper Taxonomy section, so hopefully you get an answer! I think they are also found growing in India but I'm not sure.

I should know this, considering my favorite slipper is micranthum!!

Paph micranthum is quite variable in color and shape even within one population so this is almost impossible to answer. It depends on how large your sample is (number of plants) within a certain locale to get a general answer, and for a specific plant you need to bloom it to see what you will get. There are populations with white pouches, rich pink pouches, dark petals, light petals, some albino variations, etc. and combinations of all of these. Most are somewhere in the average of the extremes.

ok, thanks for moving this message and for your answers, so I'll soon have a Cao Bang micranthum and I'll see what it does!
