My latest purchases arrived on Friday.

primulinum var flavum and Phrag. caudatum var wallisii.

The primulinum has two nice new growths just starting to develop.

Keep a close eye for bacterial rot on the wallisii! The long petalled phrags are prone to it.

Nice plants!

They are gorgeous plants! I don't think wallisii is called a caudatum. Aren't they 2 different species?

Yes. Wallisii Is a separate species. So the proper name is Phrag. wallisii, not caudatum var. wallisii

Actually, I think wallisii is now called warscewiczianum and warscewiczianum is now popowii.

Well, in my house I can call my plants anything I like and I'm still calling my wallisii as wallisii and not warscewiczianum.

I think the scientists try to keep out brains sharp with working out.
Reminds me of a vietnamese children story.
Long long ago, there was a guy with a cat. He though his cat was the best ever. So the name cat is not good enough.
He then named the cat Sky (since Sky is the highest & biggest of all)
Then one day, his friend said:
Sky is not so great, the cloud can obsures it. Well, promptly he changed the cat's name to Cloud.
then, another friend said, the wind can blow away the cloud, well he changed the cat name to Wind.
the next friend said, the wall can stop wind, he changed the cat name to Wall.
well , another friend mentioned that the rat can dig a hole into the wall.
He changed the cat's name again to Rat.
You can guess what the next person said, right.?:p

Good idea. Easier to write and pronounce.

A rose by any other name is still covered with thorns.

:lol1:

Wish I had bought 3 or 4 more of the primulinum.
They were dirt cheap ($15) for such big plants. :(
