View Full Version : Strange Bedfellows? Gideon June 20th, 2005, 04:56 AM Very interesting :? nyorchids June 20th, 2005, 05:07 AM very strange! Paphgirl June 20th, 2005, 06:18 AM Deal of a life time huh? Park Bear June 20th, 2005, 07:55 AM buy it TADD June 20th, 2005, 08:20 AM Yeah I actually saw that the other day. Kind of a weird combo. Especially with the light and water requirements of each. Purpurata =High Light/ drier Delenatii Lowe light/moist. It is for the person that has that little piece of shade cloth left over. Attatch it to the wood, and drape it over the paph! Happy Growing, and yes the deal of the century Thanks for sharing! TADD June 20th, 2005, 03:35 PM And to believe someone has actually bid on this! It is the deal of a lifetime and rare! Ernie June 20th, 2005, 04:35 PM Well, that's a fairly small delanati but it's healthy and the roots on that Laelia seem to be taking over the world so it's not a bad price for the pair imho. I might actually buy it since I want a delanati but I certainly wouldn't keep it on that mount. paphreek June 20th, 2005, 05:37 PM Well, that's a fairly small delanati but it's healthy and the roots on that Laelia seem to be taking over the world so it's not a bad price for the pair imho. I might actually buy it since I want a delanati but I certainly wouldn't keep it on that mount. WHAT! Not keep the mount? It's genuine ORGANIC driftwood. I got some organic trees in my yard. amber June 20th, 2005, 06:10 PM this is the wierdest thing I ever saw. I must add I grow delanatii in fairly strong light and it seems to like it, although it gets 3 times more water then my cattleyas. but hey, that's a nice experiment for 10$. I woudn't separate the loving couple. good luck! TADD June 20th, 2005, 07:38 PM It would be interesting to grow the delenatii on a mount. Go for it Ernie! Let us know how it works out! Paphreek I have some organic soil in my yard if you want to work out a trade ? PM me if interested :poke: paphreek June 20th, 2005, 10:25 PM I could use some organic soil; mine's mainly sand and gravel! :( Would you trade some for an organic 23 year old? He doesn't seem to know what a job is, but will water plants and take care of the cats. Paphgirl June 20th, 2005, 10:39 PM I think I have an organic tomato around here somewhere, if anyone is interested. It may even be an heirloom! dustyatticstuff June 20th, 2005, 10:50 PM It is on my "watch list," but I was not planning to buy. Ernie June 21st, 2005, 01:10 AM I could use some organic soil; mine's mainly sand and gravel! :( Would you trade some for an organic 23 year old? He doesn't seem to know what a job is, but will water plants and take care of the cats. Hmm, I recently acquired one of those 23 year old organics too. They sure do like to vegetate and procrastinate, don't they. I keep teasing and asking where's the flower or do I need to lower his ambient air temperature at night. Jon in SW Ohio June 21st, 2005, 01:56 AM Job?? I seem to recall hearing of these. I think they are an endangered species or extinct in the wild. Seems my generation would gladly jump off a bridge with a bungee cord, but work scares the heck out of us. I have something similar where the hours are great but the pay could be better, but I sure wouldn't call it work. Good luck getting yours to bloom, sometimes they just need to be put outside for the summer to find their niche. Jon Paphgirl June 21st, 2005, 06:47 AM Sigh...to be 24 again..... those were the days.... I actually wanted to be an organic farmer back then. Go figure. TADD June 21st, 2005, 06:59 AM Paphreek and Ernie, I have my own organic 25 year old 'brother in law' who has managed to live in my house for 3 years and not pay a dimes rent. Nor has he done a single thing to help out around the house. I got up this morning, and he was up on the front porch. He was getting ready to go to bed. He sleeps all day, and parties all night. Je works 3 nights a week as a bartender, and makes decent $. Maybe we can work out a trade or something....Lower the room temp will not work, I have tried to use Cymbidium temps on him and nothing! I think he has a poor root structure! :poke:  Good Luck, remember that I was a dud back in the day. Wanted to be an Environmental Engineer...kicked out of college....6 yeas later Teacher!!!!! Best career decision of my life! There is hope, flowers just take time.... dustyatticstuff June 21st, 2005, 07:08 AM Ahhh...It's reassuring to know that other people are in the same boat. Now if I just can convince my 25 year old daughter to get a "real" job!!! Maybe there is hope!:-dance: Park Bear June 21st, 2005, 06:37 PM Tadd, use some cinnamon on him or spray him down with alcohol steeped with cayenne. it works with my household pests  TADD June 21st, 2005, 08:00 PM That might just work  |
