View Full Version : Pictures of my postage stamp garden
toddybear July 15th, 2007, 08:25 PM Thought I'd share some pics of my garden. These were taken a couple of weeks ago. My orchids get my undivided attention from October through April but May-September my attentions are often elsewhere!

Me too, me too!!! So, so, so very pretty!!! I really want Japanese Maples but I have little or no shade on my property. I want a GH big enough to plant Japanese Maples in it!!!
toddybear July 16th, 2007, 05:59 AM The off-white flowers in the third pic is a dwarf Cytisus.
I have more jap Maples in pots than in the ground. They are strewn all over my back deck. I have 14 in total between pots and the ground. Love them but I live on the edge of where they can be successfully grown. Variety is limited locally so most had to be shipped from British Columbia as 1 gallon babies.

For those interested, in picture 2 are the following maples from left to right: Red Trompenburg, Red Dragon, Omure yama, Bloodgood. In pic 3 is Sumini gashi.
Here is the smallest Jap. maple...Sharp's Pygmy...8 years old and still only 8"!
