A few weeks ago Shady Character, Mark, decided to part with some plants & that was the big reason to go to Madison, as he didn't want to ship them. There is a reason Mark is 'Shady Character' - his yard it AWESOME! There is NO GRASS in the front yard - hostas, ferns, a giant jack-in-the-pulpit & a bunch of other plants you don't see very often, big rocks giving a natural tiered effect. Mark is real good at the botanical names - I'm not even going to go there. Go around to the backyard & there's a deck surrounded by more beds of shady plants & the only grass is a circle 15-20ft in the middle! I'm sorry I didn't take pictures, my photography skills could never do it justice!!!
So what did I get from Mark? (who BTW lived 15-20 minutes from Ackers!)
Paph. species - Appletonianum v.Hainanense, Charlesworthii, 2 Delenatii, Esquireolei, Insigne v.sanderae, Malipoense, Prim.v.purpuratum & Victoria regina.
Paph hybrids - Ho Chih Minh & St. Swithin 'Walbrun'.
Phrags - Caudatum v.sanderae, Lindleyanum 'Birchwood & Eric Young.
Non slippers - Dend. Comet King 'Akatsuki', Masd. Mardi Gras x floribunda, Masd.Tovarensis, Lepanthes calodictyon & pleurothallis ruscifolia.
and the ICING on the CAKE - he had set aside a few more plants he decided to part with since we talked - here sits the beautiful Bulbo - I take a look at the tag - :surprise:ELIZABETH ANN 'HUCKELBERRY'!!!! No I didn't buy one at Ackers!

Buckleberry...Im almost positive its buckleberry unless there is another named huckleberry. I love that bulbo. Its what started me picking up a few...I wanna see the yard now!
