A most LOVELY gift from Paphraguy!
This "baby" of 16 pbs(!!) arrived in spike in what, July '04? Now has two more spikes, one in full bloom, the other just plumping its buds. My living room smells wonderful! My Max. tenuofolia is also just starting to bloom, so I'm hoping to have a house smelling of mounds bars very soon!

Very nice! Mine just finished blooming and it is now in spike again! Very robust plant, I must say! I'm glad you like it!

Thank you! Yes, I love it! The smell is, I think, more intense this time around for some reason.

Beautiful Paphgirl,
I bought mine in bloom 3 years ago and it has not bloomed for me ever. I am ready to get rid of it. The plant did suffer a bit of neglect and the new leaves do have the accordian pleating but the psuedobulbs are really plump now that I have been taking care of it. I was afraid I was overwatering it till it was to late and the pleating was showing. But I cannot for the life of me get this orchid to bloom.
Oncidiums are not my favorite but I love the smell of this orchid. Do you have any tips that would work for getting it to bloom?

I'm no expert, but I'd give it more light. That's usually the issue - also, try to up the watering, if it is pleated (tho SB always looks a little iffy, IMO) I, due to size, had mine outside last summer, in pretty much full afternoon sun, so it spiked up right away last fall and two spikes have bloomed this winter. Second in full bloom now. It is a fun plant to have around, although HUGE!
